- Note: Article Templates and Cleary AI are currently available for Company Updates. The capability for Team updates will be coming soon!
Using Templates
When creating a new Company Update, you’ll see the template module appear on the left of the page.
There are 80+ templates available within Cleary Templates! We’ve covered a variety of categories to help you create a best-in-class Internal Comms program for your company. You can search for templates in the search bar and change your view of the templates from a list to a thumbnail preview using the buttons to the right of the search bar. You’ll also see a list of suggested templates populated at the top of the module to help get you started.
You can also browse these templates from their associated topics, including Holidays, Sales, Workplace, Diversity & Inclusion, and much more!
Upon hovering upon a template name, you’ll have the ability to Preview or Apply a template. Upon clicking Preview, a pop up will appear with a preview of the selected template.
You can then Apply the template, edit the template, or click close to remove the pop up.
Applying Templates
Once a template is applied, it will appear on the Content tab at the top of the article editor. Here you can edit the title and body of the message, select the article type, display author, add tags, and enable comments. To mention an employee, simply type "@" then begin typing their name!
Clicking preview at the top right will show how this post will display when published.
Clicking the Summary Card CTA on the top right of the nav bar, or via the middle tab, will allow you to adjust how this post will appear when truncated on the feed. We’ve automatically populated a truncated summary based on your article content, but you can adjust and add to what is displayed here. Remember that this will display in users’ homepage feeds on Cleary, so it should be concise. We recommend one image or video if applicable, and a short paragraph or list of items.
Clicking Audience & Settings will then take you to settings related to the article. Here you can adjust audience targeting, article acknowledgements, and notifications related to this post.
Finally, on the top right, you can choose to Save this post as a draft or Publish the post. Clicking Publish will also give you the option to schedule the article to be published in the future. You’ll see additional options clicking the three dots to the right of Publish.
Creating Templates
Clicking Save as Template in the Article Editor will save the changes of an article as a new template to be selected in the future. This can be done for any article, whether it’s from an existing template or an article created from scratch.
Once saved, a blue banner will appear on the article editor. You can click Click here to edit it to resume editing the template for future use.
Templates can also be created from scratch by heading to Admin → Articles, navigating to the Templates tab, and clicking Create new Template
Saved templates will appear under the [Company Name] Templates tab at the top of the templates module.
Editing Templates
When Previewing a template, you’ll have the opportunity to edit rather than apply the template.
When editing a template, you can adjust the content, summary card, and audience/settings. All of these changes will be saved to the template when selecting it in the future.
When finished adjusting the template, clicking Update Template will save the changes. To the right of this button, you’ll also have the opportunity to Copy and Delete the Template, or Create a new article.
Cleary AI
Leverage Cleary AI in Templates
Browsing templates, you’ll also see a number appear with a magic wand icon, indicating these templates are made with the power of Cleary AI!
These templates were designed to save you even more time in your content creation workflows. We’re leveraging the power of generative AI combined with our unique dataset to help you create and deliver relevant and timely internal comms even faster.
Selecting the Monthly Celebrations template, for example, will generate an pulling in upcoming Birthdays, Work Anniversaries, New Hires, and Shoutouts in an easy to read and accessible format.
Templates made with Cleary AI will generate several “blocks” of content. When templates with Cleary AI are first loaded, you’ll see it can take some time to generate content, and the following appear on the bottom of each AI block:
While it’s generating, you can choose to Stop the content generation. Once complete, you’ll see actions to Edit the prompt, Regenerate the output, or Delete the AI block when you hover over this text.
Once the AI-content has been generated, you can still make any edits you may need. For example, you can remove a list item it added, or add content to the block.
Leverage Cleary AI in the Article Text Editor
In addition to appearing in templates, Cleary AI can also be leveraged at any time while creating content in an article. Simply click the blue magic wand icon in the formatting bar, and write a prompt referencing information from Cleary!
Here are just a few examples of different prompts you can use:
- Write a list of any live surveys in Cleary.
- Write a list of all articles published on Cleary last week.
- Write a list summarizing the shoutouts received in October. Add a few emojis to make it fun!
- List new hires who joined the company in October. Include their title and city.
- Mention all employees who have a birthday coming up, including their birthday in the format: November 24th
💡 Tip: You can also let employees know about company events coming up this week! If you have the Company Calendar widget enabled on your Cleary homepage, you can reference the name of that calendar in a prompt like this:
- Write a list of every event this month from the [Google Company Calendar Name] Calendar.
Note: You cannot ask Cleary AI to return information external to Cleary (yet!). Keep your prompts to data within Cleary for now 🙂
Once you’ve entered the prompt and clicked Create, Cleary AI will think for a few moments, and then generate a text block similar to those used in Cleary AI templates.
Upon creation, you can edit, regenerate or delete this block of content. You can also create an additional AI text block or add text above or below the block!
