Cleary has a OneDrive/SharePoint OAuth2 app that can be connected to your Microsoft account to allow searching for files. The OneDrive and SharePoint integration are the same. We’ll omit SharePoint from this doc, but notice that the integration will work for both.
With the OneDrive integration, you get to see the same results you would see when you’re searching in drive directly. Any file that the logged in user has access to will show up as a search result. This mirrors the privacy settings for the file in OneDrive. Cleary does not access files directly, only file metadata for display purposes.
Types of Integration
Admin integration
Cleary allows an admin to give Tenant wide access to all public files. Doing so, the user won’t need to grant access to his files. But if they want to see private files, each individual must grant access. For this, see the “User Integration” section.
- Make sure you are a tenant admin of Microsoft.
- Open the App Integrations page https://you-company-subdomain.gocleary.com/admin/app_integrations
- Expand the Search section and you should see the OneDrive install button
- Click on Install
- You’re going to be redirected to the Microsoft App to authorize it. Click Accept
- You’ll be redirect back to cleary, expand Search section and you should see a success message
User Integration
It’s the integration users need to do in order to give access to their private files. Private files can only be accessed by the people who have access to.
- Click in your profile photo -> settings. Then go to Integrations tab, click in Install under OneDrive section
- Accept the permissions in Microsoft Page
- You’ll be redirected back to settings. You should see a success message.
Performing search
After doing one of those steps above, you’re able to search in OneDrive
Note: If search results aren't working as expected, use an asterisk ("plan*" to find results for planned, planning, or plans).
