Purpose:
Calendars are used in Cleary to display targeted events for users on their home feed. You likely launched with at least one Global Calendar, which might contain company-wide events like All Hands meetings. However, many customers like to add office-specific or department-specific calendars, and then target the display to the relevant group of employees.
Set-up:
If you have access to the calendar you’d like to integrate, take the following steps:
1. Access the calendar in your Google Calendar app. Hover over it and select the menu to generate the Settings options
2. Once in Settings, scroll down and select “Integrate Calendar.”
3. Copy the Calendar ID value (The example Calendar ID here is for Holidays in United States)
4. Head to Cleary, click Admin, then click External Calendars on the left nav panel.
5. Click Create New External Calendar
6. Paste your Calendar ID from step 3 into the Calendar ID field. You’ll also add a Display Name, Internal Name, and Color for your Calendar.
- Adding a color to calendar events on the homepage widget will enable events from different calendars to be represented by different colors.
7. Use the audience module on the right of the page to target a specific audience, or the entire company.
8. Click Save External Calendar
- Note: Don’t worry if you don’t see calendar events on the home page right away – they should appear within 15 minutes.
