Purpose:
Banners allow you to pin short, but critical messages to users’ home feed until they acknowledge the message. Examples may be an upcoming Benefits enrollment deadline or a message from IT.
Creation:
Locate the Banners tab within the Admin. There you will be able to view previous banners, or create a new one. As you enter the following inputs, the preview banner at the top of the page will illustrate the display.
- Title (for internal use): this is a required field to name the banner, but it will not display to end users.
- Text: this is the content that users will actually see in the banner.
- Link: you can include a link if your goal is to redirect users to another site.
- Start Time and End Time: you must select a period of time to display the banner.
Updating your Banners Style
Navigate to Admin > Styles > Components to update the color of the background and font of your banner:
Selecting your Banner's Target Audience
Sometimes a message may only be directed at a specific audience. Maybe there is a particular office location closing for an upcoming holiday, or maybe there is an upcoming meeting only for managers. You can utilize the targeting fields just like you do for other types of content.
