How to Get Started with the Slack App for HR Support
Simply click "Add to Slack" on our website and follow the Slack authorization prompt. Cleary allows you to install a single or multiple workspaces. Just repeat the process to install multiple Slack workspaces.
Once installed, you'll be given a quick product tour of the Slack app in your instance of Cleary. This will guide you through the Slack App functionality and how to use the app in your Slack Channels:
At the end of the product tour, you'll be prompted to add the Slack Bot to public Slack channels in your workspace. We'll prepopulate a few suggestions related to HR Support. Don't worry, the bot won't notify people in these channels.
Once you've added the Bot to at least one Slack channel, the bot will start analyzing the past 6 months of conversation to create HR Support FAQs in your Cleary workspace. The Bot will use these FAQs as sources to answer repetitive employee questions in the future.
Additionally, you'll receive a report on the current state of HR Support in those channels including efficacy, volume, and time-to-resolution.
All of this will be logged on your Cleary dashboard, and you'll receive a Slack notification when the report and initial FAQs are ready.
If someone asks a question in a channel related to HR or IT Support, the Cleary Slack App will suggest an answer to them if one is available in your knowledge base. You can @ mention the Bot directly in the Slack channel, but you don't have to. It will passively assess questions in the channel to determine whether or not it has the necessary information in Cleary to respond. You'll see the bot acknowledge the question in the channel with an 👀 emoji reaction to the question.
If it can answer the question, it will share a suggested answer privately to the asker in Slack. That person can choose to Share Answer in Thread, or mark the answer as Not Helpful. If they mark it Not Helpful, the Bot will prompt them to leave feedback.
They can click any links or sources on the answer to navigate to further information in Cleary.
Alternatively, if there is not sufficient information to answer, the Bot will wait for someone else in the workspace to respond. If there are responses to the thread, the Bot will log a new FAQ in Cleary comprised of the information from the thread. This helps you maintain your company knowledge base effortlessly.
Only want the bot to create new FAQs based on answers from certain admins? You can configure these settings for each Slack channel the Bot is added to by going to Admin > Cleary AI > Slack App and clicking "Edit" on the Slack Channel you want to configure specific permissions for:
Many employees prefer to ask HR-related questions privately rather than putting them in a channel. Channels work great for general questions such as "What are the company holidays?" or "How can I submit my expenses?". But for more private questions, employees can DM the bot in the Apps section of Slack.
Alternatively, users can type /cleary in any public channel the Bot is active in, add their question, and then hit Enter. The question will trigger a modal only visible to them with an answer to their question.
